When dining in Korean restaurants etiquette can be vital, for instance using chopsticks to impersonate a walrus is widely frowned upon. Enjoy a flipper-full of fabulous food with today’s Groupon: $89 for a sumptuous six course degustation for two at Mapo Korean Restaurant, Adelaide ($186 value)

Running the culinary gamut from traditional treats to contemporary creations, the award winning Mapo Korean Restaurant celebrates the rich heritage of Korea with the best of local Adelaide produce. Fusion freaks lounge in sumptuous and sophisticated environs while treating their tastebuds to a six-course tour of Mapo’s fantastical foodie feats. Groupies get started with grilled Japanese scallops served with a sour potato salad and drizzled with truffle oil before relishing the intricate flavours of the dried caramelised squid in a butter soy sauce. Delighted diners then cleanse their pallets with Korean Kimchi with a rice ball and toasted seaweed and tuck in to the Tempura style chicken breast drizzled with honey mustard sauce. Gorging groupies save room to savour the delectable nuances of Mapo’s trademark dish, succulent coffee infused pork spare ribs with a fresh salad, before finishing off with the Black Angus Eye Fillet drizzled with ginger flavoured teriyaki sauce.

Mapo has received numerous culinary awards, including Best Asian Restaurant in SA in 2011, 2010 and Lifestyle Food Channel’s Best Korean Restaurant in Australia 2007. Located on Adelaide’s iconic Gouger Street, it offers a premium dining experience and unique Asian-inspired fare that leaves a lasting impression. The menu was prepared by founder and head chef Chung Jae Lee, who has years of experience and has appeared on the TV show, Food Safari, with Maeve O’Meara.
