The Experience

The Cape York tours at Australian Wild Escapes allow travellers to experience Australia’s far north in style, comfort and sophistication. Groupies are greeted in Cairns and board a modern, air-conditioned 4WD vehicle bound for Cooktown, where Captain Cook beached the Endeavour for repairs in 1770 and where Europeans reported seeing kangaroos for the very first time. Continue on via historic stations including Old Laura, Musgrave and Bramwell, which is Australia’s northernmost cattle station. At the Elliott River, Groupies swim at spectacular Indian Head Falls, Elliot Falls and Twin Falls, where they camp for the night. The next evening is spent on the sandy shores of Loyalty Beach, where there is the option to take a day tour or flight over the Torres Strait Islands. Celebrate standing on the very northern tip of the Cape York Peninsula, then climb aboard the M.V Trinity, a working cargo ship that takes Groupies through the waterways of the Great Barrier Reef all the way back to Cairns.
