Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary allows animal-lovers both young and old to get up close and personal with hundreds of native animals. Established in 1947 when bee-keeper and flower enthusiast Alex Griffiths began feeding the local lorikeets to prevent them from ravaging his flowers, the sanctuary entertains human visitors while helping to protect and preserve Australia’s wildlife.
Park attractions include daily feedings of a diverse range of animals including pelicans, eels, crocodiles and lorikeets can also get their pictures snapped with inhabitants including koalas, kangaroos, lorikeets, snakes and possums. The Green Challenge high ropes adventure course is the latest addition to the park. The nature-based adventure experience comprises 65 obstacles including giant flying foxes and a Tarzan swing.
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is set amongst 27 hectares of natural bushland and rainforest surrounds, which can be explored on foot or via the guided Segway Safari tour. The park is located just five minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from Surfers Paradise.
4.5 / 5
Great wildlife park with a variety of animals and wildlife, alot of it Australian. Must get a picture holding the Koalas, the cheapest photos are big enough if I'm honest. Check the times to see the Saltwater and freshwater crocodiles, as we just missed this when we went, and that looked one of the best attractions. Lots of kangaroos that you can get close up to and feed too which is amazing.

got myself a chance to hold a koala which for AU$25 was well worth it..
we had a little one in tow who enjoy herself immensely especially on the little train..
