In ancient times women used burnt matches to darken their eyes, berries to stain their lips and cupid’s baby dribble to fade their freckles. Become acquainted with the modern world of make-up application with a crash course in all things cosmetics: $189 for a five day comprehensive ‘Introduction to Cosmetics’ course with the Cosmetic Training Centre located in York Street, CBD ($795 value).
Product junkies and make-up enthusiasts will benefit from streamlining their knowledge and covering the basics and how-to of all things make-up, from practicals and theory related to skincare, hygiene, natural and glamorous make-up, products and their uses, general make-up lectures, specialised bridal make-up and more. Classes are theory and practically-based as students work with trained professionals for five days from Monday to Friday. Working in partners, listening to informative lectures and watching DVDS are just some of the techniques employed to learn the ins and outs of hiding pores, smoothing troublesome complexions and turning the pale green of your eyes into a vivid shade of emerald.
At the completion of the course, students will be awarded a Certificate of Introduction to Cosmetics. This certificate will then be given Recognition to Prior Learning if the student wishes to complete either the Cosmetic Consultant Diploma Course (needed to gain interviews to work in Department Stores or International Cosmetic Companies with CTC Assistance) or the Advance Make-up Certificate Course (allowing students to operate their freelance make-up business).
