Trek through quaint mountain villages, pass Buddhist monasteries, explore the temples and bazaars of Kathmandu and cross suspension bridges, all the while gazing at the world’s highest 8000m snow-capped peaks.

The Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400 m)

  • Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to the airport and tour briefing
  • Overnight in a hotel; no meals

Day 2: Leisure day/trek preparation day in Kathmandu

  • The buffer day in Kathmandu to provide you enough time to buy trekking equipment and preparation for your adventure. This day can be also very useful to explore the local market, Nepalese culture, people’s cultural lifestyle and heritages around Kathmandu which are the finest examples of ancient art and architecture
  • Overnight at a hotel
  • Meals: breakfast

Day 3: Flight to Lukla (2,804 m); trekking to Phakding (2,610 m)

  • Take a flight to Lukla
  • Enjoy some time to explore the local village before starting the 3-hour trek towards Phakding  
  • Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 4: Trekking to Namche Bazaar (3,441 m)

  • Follow the banks of the Dudh Koshi and cross some suspension bridges to get to the Sagamartha National Park
  • This day’s destination is Namche Bazaar, known as the gateway to Everest
  • Overnight in a guesthouse
  • Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 5: Namche Bazaar acclimatisation day

  • Take some time to get accustomed to the thinning air and spend a day in Namche Bazaar
  • Trek to a museum housing the traditional customs of the Sherpa people and hike up to the Everest View Hotel, one of the highest-placed hotels in the world
  • Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 6: Trek to Tengboche (3,860 m) - 5 hours

  • Continue the trek along the glacial waters of Dudh Koshi, taking in the mountain views
  • Reach the Tengboche Monastery boasting ornate wall decor, Buddha sculpture, and musical instruments of the Lamas
  • Watch a prayer ceremony in the evening (or next morning, depending on the day’s trek)
  • Overnight in a guesthouse
  • Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 7: Trek to Dingboche (4,350 m) - 5 hours

  • Head to Debuche, cross another exciting suspension bridge on the Imja Khola into Pangboche and visit the quaint Sherpa village of Dingboche overlooking Lhotse, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam
  • Overnight in a guesthouse
  • Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 8: Acclimatisation hike to Nangkartshang Peak (5,083 m) - 4 hours

  • Acclimatisation day; take a hike to Nangkartshang Peak just above Dingboche
  • Spend the rest of the day strolling around or simply relaxing
  • Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 9 - Trek to Lobuche (4,910 m) - 5 hours

  • Continue trekking along the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier towards the village of Lobuche set at the foot of the Lobuche peak
  • Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 10: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,365 m) and then back to Gorak Shep (5,180 m) - 8 hours

  • Start the trip’s most strenuous trek along the Khumbu Glacier and up to Everest Base Camp at 5,365 m; this is the closest trekkers can get to Mt. Everest without mountaineering equipment
  • Head back to Gorak Shep for the overnight stay
  • Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 11: Morning hike up to Kala Patthar (5,555 m) and descend to Pheriche (4,200 m) - 7 hours

  • Another challenging day starts with climbing Kala Patthar in the morning which is rewarded with mountain panorama views, crowned with Everest
  • Descent to Gorak Shep for some breakfast and trek down to Pheriche
  • Overnight in a guesthouse
  • Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 12: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,441 m) - 7 hours

  • Leave the snow-capped peaks of the highest mountains behind and trek through Pangboche and Tengboche on the way to Namche Bazaar
  • Overnight in a guesthouse
  • Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 13: Trek to Lukla (2,804 m) - 6 hours

  • The last day of trekking is planned for heading back to Lukla
  • Free time in the afternoon before some celebratory time with the group in the evening
  • Overnight in a guesthouse
  • Meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 14: Morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu

  • Take the last glimpse of the mountains and take a short flight back to Kathmandu
  • Transfer to the hotel * There are many options to extend the trip, such as Chitwan jungle safari, river rafting adventure, Kathmandu shopping tour, mountain biking and other activities - please enquire when booking
  • Overnight in the hotel
  • Meals: breakfast

Day 15: Leisure day and farewell

  • It is also a spare day in case of bad weather in the mountain as the weather in the mountain is unpredictable and there are some time delay and cancellation of the Lukla flights because of the weather.

Day 16: Transfer to the airport

  • The experience ends with a transfer to the airport 
  • Meals: breakfast
