The Area: Canberra

Canberra is a planned metropolis that architect Walter Burley Griffin envisioned as a garden city for some 25,000 people. Canberra is currently home to about 300,000 people. However, due to the unique sprawled and decentralized design, the city maintains its small-town atmosphere.

As well as being home to some of the country's most significant monuments and museums, Canberra's unique attractions include the annual 'Celebration of Spring' flower festival Floriade, in which more than a million blooms go into the show. As well as the stunning exhibits, there are also horticultural workshops, music, local artistry, and events that include the spectacular Floriade NightFest. The stunning man-made lakes, hot air balloon displays, local wineries, fine dining, natural wildlife, and blossoming nightlife all contribute to Canberra's bush-city charm.

Just ok Stayed in family room, beds comfortable, housekeeping made them up daily. Carpets throughout the hotel are in need of ripping up. No crockery or cutlery supplied, 4 mugs and a small kettle only but no spoons etc… No foot mats provided for bathroom, difficult with children and wet tiles. Air con works well. Very noisey hotel, can hear everything from neighbours and people walking through corridors. It’s summer nats weekend so maybe louder than usual. Pool looked very cloudy and I couldn’t bring myself to swim in it. Didn’t eat at the hotel so can’t comment. Overall it’s okay if you’re looking for budget accommodation.

Buns ahh hotel _ Went here a couple of days ago, DO NOT GO UNLESS YOU HAVE TOO. The beds had stains, there wasn't even a tv remote and the kettle was broken, had to ask for new ones and when we got the remote it was broken so was the hairdryer. The carpet for the rooms are nasty they have stains everywhere it looks hella unclean. The pool kind of looks nasty it doesn't look clean in my opinion. They didn't have a phone in the room which meant we had to use our own phones and call the number on the sheet of paper provided. At one point we ran out of water and when we asked the reception for more, they said they ran out of water. If you want ur room clean don't even bother, they don't even change your sheets, they js make ur bed and clean it up a bit the normal things u can do by urself. The gym is just a room full of equipment some of it doesn't even work but it's fine since the place is smaller than normal hotel gyms. If u want a peaceful quiet room, i don't recommend here it is very loud especially at night when other guest make their way back to their own rooms, this isn't the hotels fault but maybe they should invest on better doors. In my opinion, my room felt very uncomfortable due to the dirtiness in my room but throughout the days it gets a bit more cozy which is good ig. The area this hotel is in is a good area it is close to all the main attractions of Canberra. It's not too pricey which is good if you don't have an option to go somewhere else. This hotel feels more like a motel.
