The floating market of Damnoen Saduak is one of Thailand’s most popular and famous attractions. Just 100km from Bangkok, the bustling market lies at the heart of a twisting network of canals lined with traditional villages. Although it sells mostly tourist souvenirs these days, the market offers a glimpse into Thai culture and the opportunity to cruise down the river on a charming long tail boat.

The Experience
Explorers board a comfy air-conditioned coach from their hotel in Bangkok and sit back for a relaxing 90-minute ride to Damnoen Saduak, stopping off at a coconut farm along the way. Upon arrival at Damnoen Saduak, Groupies take a long tail motor boat to see the traditional way of life in Thai riverside villages, before visiting the floating market and perhaps hiring a paddle boat to cruise around at their own pace. On the way home, check out an elephant camp, monkey school and snake farm, as well as a beautiful jewellery shop and handicraft centre. An English-speaking guide is on hand throughout the trip, and all passengers are returned to their hotel by 2pm.

Customer Reviews

Our guide to the Floating Markets outside of Bangkok on 30 Sept was Lily who loves her job and does exceptional work in making the guests enjoy themselves while learning about the place. She was a true gem and made us feel like we had known her forever. She is a great ambassador for Thailand. We think she is the best.

I thought the snake show on the floating markets tour was cruel and would not recommend this part of the tour.
