Sat at table #32 and had a lovely night. I was very surprised at the quality of the food. It was good. (I seriously didn't expect it to be THAT good )... I am not usually a chicken eater, but it was lovely & tender. Fresh Veges and fresh tomato were really nice. The Creme Brulee was stunning. Entertainment was entertaining. My ONLY problem is I don't really drink booze and wanted coffee - I would have been very happy if I could have had a few shots of coffee, but they don't serve coffee... PLUS, the lights need to be brighter for when eating (hard to see the menu) That's my ONLY gripe for the evening :-) would rec. It's different & was a little bit of fun at a decent price. Quality of the food was good :-)

We went under the impression that there would be a show during dinner. We had the three course meal and waited for almost half an hour before a show even began. The website shows that was meant to be 7 acts, but we ended up getting only one act- a magic/ poor-taste comedy act that stretched on for an hour and a half. The expected show end-time was 10:15 but they gave our farewells at 9:41 (this time was a part of one of the magic tricks, which was one of the ones I did find very entertaining ). I am a little appalled and disappointed in the service that we received. My Groupon was originally for Sunday, however they offered to change me over to Saturday (therefore upgrading to a 3 course meal as opposed to a 2 course meal). What I didn't expect was that the rest of the show would be downgraded as a result.

About The Magicians Cabaret

The Magicians Cabaret is a cabaret restaurant bar situated in a quiet Darlinghurst neighbourhood near The Anzac Memorial. With a movie like setting, combining the unmistakable stylistic finesse of a traditional Parisian dinner theatre with a touch of New York aesthetics, the venue hosts shows by magicians and cabaret artists on weekly basis. While aiming to maintain the air of seductive mystery that these types of performing arts are associated with, the establishment is also home to family-friendly shows, setting out to bring quality entertainment to a wider audience.

Every week The Magicians Cabaret offers five different entertainment experiences: {1} magic parlour shows, {2} magic parlours shows accompanied with dinner, {3} Parisian cabaret dinner shows featuring storytelling, song, dance and magic by a stellar cast of seven artists after patrons have enjoyed a candle lit dinner, {4} underground cabaret bar which features a singer singing songs of the soulful jazz noir kind, and {5} exclusive use with any of the above entertainment options or without in a cocktail party format. The secret top hat bar is open with all entertainment experiences.
