13th Beach is famous among all world professional surfers as the place they train when the Bells Beach Pro surfing competition is on each Easter. You will see rugged coast & cliff-line, pristine water, great waves and beautiful beaches - you'll also get to explore the beach and some of the surrounding rock pools. We have morning tea and grab a coffee from the stunning At The Heads restaurant sitting over the Barwon River lookout out the heads to Bass Straight. Then head to Ocean Grove beach where you'll get to hear about beach swimming safety from the local surf life savers and have a swim in the waves. Spend some time on the beach like a local exploring rock pools at low tide and see the boilers of the SS Orungal which sank in 1940 in treacherous weather.

See one of Australia's last manned lighthouses. Walking from the carpark overlooking the famous Rip, identified as one of the top 5 treacherous waterways in the world, we see disused concrete bunkers built during World War II and walk around the lighthouse. See the famous cave lived in by the first European Settler and Convict, William Buckley, in the early 1800's - known as 'Buckley's Cave'.

We visit a gorgeous farm / winery for a well deserved lunch and wine tasting. This idyllic location boasts many animals, sprawling lawns, stunning views and delicious food and wine. We catch the SeaRoad Ferry from Queenscliff to Sorrento and while in Queenscliff we'll head to the amazing lolly shop and see some beautiful architecture. Queenscliff has a very rich history and famously is the site of the first live shots fired as part of World War I and II. Have fun spotting dolphins and seals as we make our way across the Bay to Sorrento passing the treacherous RIP, the entry point for all Melbourne based sea vessels and one of the most treacherous stretches of water in the country. Hear about the War history and quarantine station at Point Nepean and see houses of the rich and famous perched on the clifftops.
