A good sealed road 150 kilometres west from Mt Field National Park we reach Lake Gordon and Lake Pedder, set in Tasmania's wild south-west wilderness and ringed with rugged mountain ranges.

A mixture of short walks around the edge of Australia's deepest lake ranging from 10 minutes to 3 hours.

A quirky old hydro town filled with charm and beautiful forest lookouts.

Day 3: Lake St Clair to Launceston

Stop At: Great Lake, Miena, Tasmania Australia
Tasmania's coldest town - Liawenee. Home to lake shacks and fishing culture. Explore with lookouts and great driving roads.

Stop At: Hobart, Tasmania, 7001 Liffey Falls Forest Reserve, Deloraine, Tasmania 7304 Australia
One of Tasmania's prettiest waterfalls, Liffey is off the tourist trail and makes for a beautiful 45 minute walk.
