An opportunity to see and learn about how your food is grown, how great it can taste when fresh and chemical free, and about growing methods that are sustainable and are part of the Australian regenerative agriculture movement. Bio intensive polyculture is an important regenerative horticultural practice which we use to enhance biodiversity and soil health on the farm. In true permaculture tradition we also integragte our poultry into our farming practice which you will see and learn about as you do the tour.
About This Deal
We will take you on a tour of the our village market garden & mixed farm harvesting and tasting vegetables from the garden as we walk. You can experience the flavour of just harvested, organically grown produce, see and discuss the specialised regenerative farming methods used to grow 4 tonne of vegetables annually from 1000 square meters of market garden. During the walk we will encounter the chicken flock (egg layers) and with the breeding pairs of geese and ducks, and, depending on the season, their offspring. Visitors will have a chance to collect eggs and hand feed the poultry.
This is an excellent chance to see where your food comes from, how it is grown, and how great it can actually taste when fresh and grown without conventional chemical pesticides or herbicides. You can also see how you can create this for yourself in your own garden.
