We arrived at the meeting spot and spoke to the facilitator who I’d been messaging a few times. He told us to follow cars to the location which we started to do. The road is winding, single lane with double lines (no overtaking) and when a cyclist was in front of us, we had to slow down and missed a turn because we didn’t see the car in front turn until we passed the street. We weren’t that far behind, maybe an extra 30 metres behind a safe following distance but due to the type of road, we couldn’t see far ahead.
We found a spot to turn around and went down the street and travelled along hoping to see the rest of the group waiting for us but didn’t. I pulled over and tried calling because we had no idea where to go and no one picked up. When trying to pull out of the road my car slipped into a ditch and half of it was in the air. We tried calling the company and still nothing. I was stuck there until just before 9.30am and we’d left the meeting point around 8.45-8.50am.
At no point did the company come back for us. At no point did they contact us to see where we were. I would consider that given we met at their meeting point, that we were under their care and they recklessly abandoned us. They already have our money so there was nothing else to gain from having us there
It’s a meditation retreat!!! We were meant to be relaxed but ended up stressed and upset. Their whole company is meant to be about mental health and self care but it appears all they cared about is care for themselves.
After a stranger helped get my car out of the ditch, we found the location and went down the driveway. Where the sign was for reception was a roped off road with a muddy track that my car wouldn’t have made it through and there was no walking path. Again we tried calling but by that point were so upset by the whole ordeal and left.
I messaged the company and they have seen my message, but chose to ignore me. No care or concern, no offer to come back at another date and have completely failed in their duty of care. I still don’t have a refund.
