About Curtin University Judo Club
Curtin University Judo Club promotes the type of martial arts which allows physical competition to occur in a safe way, The techniques are specifically designed to not cause harm to the opponent. This is where the name of Judo comes from - it means " The Gentle Way" in Japanese. Judo involves techniques that allow to lift and throw the opponent on their back or pin and control the opponent on the ground.
At the club, we promote values such as discipline, mutual respect, excellence and empathy. We value relationships with our players and the children's parents and do our best to make sure everyone feels welcome. Many of our children choose to regularly participate in local Judo competitions, which is an excellent way to test the skills they have acquired in our gym and to boost their confidence.
