The course includes online theory, face-to-face class time where any questions will be answered, practical pool training and three open water shore dives in Port Phillip Bay for a taste of real life diving. Already-certified divers who want to push depths even further opt for the two-day SSI Advanced Adventurer Course, which teaches ‘stress and rescue’ training, to teach divers how to respond to underwater emergencies, and how to prevent accidents. The course includes three shore dives and two boat dives, so scuba pros can put their new skills and training to practical use. Groupies also have the option of a three-day SSI Master Diver Course, where they are put through their paces, learning five different specialties: Navigation, Night, Wreck, Nitrox and Stress and Rescue training.
