Cambodia may have only made waves on the international tourist map after being immortalised in Tomb Raider, but the nation has a rich and at times harrowing history that has been fabled for millennia. Now free of the insidious clutches of the Khmer Rouge, Cambodia has quickly become a must-visit destination for globetrotters eager to explore the fascinating cities and abounding ancient temples surrounded by moats and entangled with age-old tree roots.
At the top of most visitors must-see list is the UNESCO World Heritage-Listed Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world and a breathtaking site to behold. Travellers stay in the steadily growing Siem Reap just northwest of the site, which offers prime proximity to the religious ruins and renowned stone masterpieces.

Groupon Recommends
While the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Angkor Archaeological Park is just 15 minutes away, the sprawling complex of temples may take a few days to explore to realise the full impact. For Angkor Wat, the jewel in Cambodia’s crown, the best time to visit is at sunrise or sunset for picture-perfect vistas of the fabled temple’s silhouette over the surrounding moat before putting archaeological hats on and delving into the stone labyrinth.
Other stunning sites of note in the area include Angkor Thom, the Bayon temple, Ta Prohm and Banteay Srei. Though the mystical temples are the main draw cards of the region, once eyes tire of towering structures there are many more things to see and do in Siem Reap. The city itself is the second largest in Cambodia and is swiftly growing, bordering the divide between quaint town and world-class mecca.
Visitors spend hours in the centre, marvelling over the French architecture, tasting unique Khmer cuisine and haggling with shop owners for quirky keepsakes. Further afield, nature lovers journey to the Phnom Kulen National Park to see mountain temples, lush jungle and jaw-dropping waterfalls.
Reviews
Stayed here in Feb 2103 for 3 nights. Large modern hotel on airport road with huge bedrooms in the main hotel & 2 story villas around the gorgeous pool.

We had booked a garden villa. The layout of the villa's is great. A small colonial village in it's own, all situated around the outside swimming pool, which has great childrens pools too. The room was HUGE, more than enough room (2 adults & 2 children). The staff were helpfull, friendly and extremely polite, going out of their way to make the stay as perfect as possible.
