The Area: Blue Mountains, NSW
The Blue Mountains are a range of wild, scrubby peaks descending into shadowy valleys of ferns and waterfalls; a place where visitors experience scenery unlike anywhere else in the world. Charming pubs, tearooms, and antique shops dot the streets of the upper Mountain townships of Leura and Katoomba, complemented by friendly locals, beautiful homes, and an array of historic man-made attractions and natural wonders.
Check out the Three Sisters, Scenic Railway, Zig Zag Railway, or Jenolan Caves, located just over an hour further up the hill. Nature lovers take walks on the wild side, trekking along the many bushwalking trails in search of picture-perfect snapshots and hiding native animals. For a change of pace, there are plenty of specialty shops, boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and other delights within Leura Mall.
