Groupies face their fear of heights or embrace the adrenalin rush with a choice of skydiving options. The 10,000 ft is ideal for first time jumpers, while more experienced junkies can undertake a course. The free-fall course includes eight hours of ground training on the first day, and an overnight stay in a shared bunkhouse before embarking on up to one solo jump the next day. Groupies are advised to bring a sleeping bag, pillow, change of clothes, and toiletries. Food is not provided, however the bunkhouse is close to a number of restaurants and take away food outlets.

Solo jumpers are in good hands as they reach great heights and prepare to jump out of the plane. Two instructors maintain contact through the free fall phase of up to one minute at speeds of up to 220km per hour. Pull your own chord at 4,000ft to deploy the parachute and from then on it’s smooth sailing. Steer through the sky and land with the help of a Target Assistant on the ground.

All jumpers receive video and still photography of their first jump, which is ideal just in case you had your eyes closed the whole time.

The Parachute School

The Parachute School has been safely pushing people out of planes since 1983. Having started out as a club for military members and their friends, the school eventually moved to Euroa to make the most of its famously good weather, quieter airspace and beautiful scenery. The school’s aircraft are maintained to Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) standards, its instructors are licensed and all parachutes are equipped with Automatic Activating Devices (AADs). Facilities back on the ground include a BBQ area, fire space and bunkhouse accommodation.
