Stop At: Morialta Conservation Park
Stradbroke Road, 10km North East of Adelaide, Woodforde, South Australia
As we begin to hike through the Australian native bush, keep your eyes peeled for wildlife surprises as you learn about them from your guide! Spot koalas chilling in the treetops, and if we’re lucky, we might catch a glimpse of a kangaroo bounding past or an echidna waddling along. The park’s creeks and rock pools are buzzing with life: frogs, geckos, skinks, and even tiny dragons call this place home. And let’s not forget the feathered locals: from the vibrant rainbow lorikeets to the cheeky kookaburras, the air is alive with their calls. Take in the dramatic gorges and sheer rock faces light up by the morning light, as well as the views of Adelaide in the distance from lookout points. In season, you'll see Morialta's First, Second and Third Falls, all of which cascade over impressive quartzite cliffs. Take time to listen to the softly cascading water in this picture-perfect setting along Fourth Creek.
