A kangaroo’s pouch is primarily used as a warm place for her joey to develop, although there’s no law saying she can’t keep her lipstick and loose change in there. Make life easier for furry friends with today’s Groupon for Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors

$10 for a Large Feeding Pack for an Orphaned Koala Joey

Furry, feathery and scaly friends receive the care they need at the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital, with injuries that can often be life-threatening, caused by things such as car accidents or domestic animal attacks. Donations from $5 to $20 help to pay for a variety of medical treatments including glucose used to aide in hydration, microchips for a koalas that will be released into the wild, nutritional supplement containers for the koalas in rehabilitation, and more.

Big donations of $50, $100 and $500 can help with daily maintenance like dressing injuries, treating critically ill patients, and providing heat pads and bedding in the ICU, as well as pain relief, antibiotics and bandages.

Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors

Since 2004, Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors’ main conservation project, the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital, has provided furry, feathery and scaly friends with medical attention from highly skilled vets. The hospital has treated over 53,000 animals in its 10 year history, with up to 65 native animals admitted each day. Over 100 of Australia’s beloved koalas are treated at any one time, with an average of 70 koalas arriving every month. The Wildlife Hospital is dedicated to the memory of Steve Irwin’s mum, Lyn, a passionate wildlife rehabilitator, and was built in order to save Australia’s native fauna.
