Popular with both loved-up couples and family units, the island delights visitors from near and far with its laidback attitude to life, where days are spent in pure relaxation on the water’s edge or exploring the unique flora and fauna of the wetland reserve.

Spend a full day wandering around the island, taking in its natural pockets of mangrove, sandy beach and red cliffs. Head to the Melaleuca Wetland Reserve to see native plants, and keep eyes open for sea eagles and rosellas flying above. Other creatures that regularly visit the area include dugongs, turtles and dolphins, while soldier crabs can be spied standing to attention between rocks and sand-growing plants.

The grounds were beautifully kept, pool area clean. We used it as a base as we spent most of the day fishing, or walking around the island. On one of the days, we hired a tinny and had a fantastic time out n the water with the turtles and other fishermen. Will definitely be going back, we see this as our escape island.

Great meals from the restaurant located nice and close to rooms. The hotel is really close to the beach and easy to get to from the ferry, five minute walk from the ferry terminal. Easy to get to from Victoria Point. Service was always fast and very friendly.
