The Hotel: Squids Ink Motel
Scenically placed on the shores of Lake Macquarie, Squids Ink Motel invites holidaymakers to enjoy a relaxing break in a postcard-like scenery. Appetites for competition can be catered for at the nearby golf course, while Warners Bay is just a short drive away. With the barbecue facilities, guests can enjoy a sizzling feast while relaxing and watching the sunset.
Groupies can unwind in air-conditioned rooms which come complete with bathroom facilities and flat-screen TVs. Crack open a bottle of wine on arrival to celebrate the break and sleep in on the last day with a late check-out by 12pm.

Only 90 minutes from Sydney and just south of Newcastle lies the city of Lake Macquarie. Home to the largest saltwater lake in Australia, the city is a haven for water sport enthusiasts. Four beaches can be found along the stretch of coastline, offering plenty of fishing, surfing and sailing opportunities. The region is dotted with a number of villages popular with holidaymakers, including Charlestown, Swansea and Warners Bay. When not keeping cool in the water, travellers keep themselves busy with bushwalking, four-wheel driving and horse riding. Plenty of dining options present themselves along the lake, giving tourists a taste of the local produce.
