The Hotel: Summerfield Winery and Accommodation

Summerfield Winery and Accommodation makes for a perfect wine getaway in the Pyrenees and is considered one of the top 100 wineries in Australia. Summerfield Winery is recognized as some of Australia’s and the Worlds Best Red Wines. Operated by father and son, Ian and Mark Summerfield, the winery boasts a cellar door, gourmet delicatessen, apartment-style accommodation, and a private airstrip.

The winery is surrounded by some of Australia’s best food spots with the multi gold-plate award Avoca Hotel only 10 minutes away and the iconic Warrenmang Restaurant just up the road. Summerfield Winery is centrally situated in a convenient location where the only need to travel is an hour-long drive to arrive at beautiful areas such as The Grampians, Ballarat (Sovereign Hill). Daylesford, Ararat, Stawell, Castlemaine, Maldon, and Bendigo all offering their own food and attractions.

Transcended in the beautiful Grampians and Pyrenees, Groupies stay in a studio apartment boasting a large verandah overlooking Moonambel, a full kitchen, and BBQ facilities. Continental breakfast is supplied each morning, and guests can experience the flavours of Summerfield with an included tasting plate and bottle of wine. On the last day, a late check-out gives guests the whole morning to reluctantly say goodbye.

Outdoor recreational activities are in abundance with bush walking paths, rock climbing walls, abseiling, fishing, golf, canoeing, horse riding, and 4WD tours. Families can spend days at the Halls Gap Zoo, or the Halls Gap Swimming Pool and Adventure Playground. Couples head to the local wineries for tastings and tours while taking in the picturesque views.
