Located 75 kilometres northwest of the Sydney CBD, Wisemans Ferry is one of the most popular day trips away from the city. Once very busy, the town is now quieter, making for a great destination for a weekend break.
Hugged by Dharug National Park and boasting numerous natural wonders, including the Hawkesbury River, the region is full of eye candy and a myriad of outdoor entertainment options such as camping, mountain biking or canoeing. Wisemans Ferry Park’s wetlands is also home to native fauna species including frogs and birds.
Outside Helensvale, whole days can be spent at any number of famous Gold Coast theme parks like Dreamworld, Wet ‘n’ Wild, Warner Bros Movie World and even Tropical Fruit World. Slightly further afield is the “green behind the gold” Hinterland, which can be explored on a day trip to Tamborine Mountain or Currumbin Valley. By night, put dancing shoes on and hit the myriad bars, pubs and clubs within close reach.
