SheepWorld

At SheepWorld, visitors get a taste of life on a working farm, where sheep are raised and shorn. In twice-daily shows, sheep are rounded up by dogs and brought in for shearing, before visitors learn about fleece and its uses from the multimedia exhibition. Visitors can also meet wildlife and farm animals on the property, enjoy a coffee in the cafe and visit the Ecoworld gift shop to stock up on wool goods.

We have just had one of our best value family day out experiences in NZ. Sheepworld was just fantastic. The lady in the gift shop was a gem fussing over the kids and taking them out to feed the Cockatoo peanuts. It made the day extra special with her enthusiasm. The $1 bags of animal food were a hit ( we ending up buying 5) with the kids...

We visited Sheepworld as part of our tour of NZ and it was an absolute stand - out. The show was fascinating (love the dogs) and the complex was very well kept. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. We were a bit worried that it might be a bit touristy but in fact it is a very authentic and genuine presentation of NZ sheep farming.
