Once I return my Hertz car, when will I get my bond back?

At the start of your Hertz rental, an authorisation hold will be put on your credit card - this will not remove any funds from your account. When you return your vehicle, Hertz will send an electronic message to your bank to release the holding amount - this will take between 2-10 days to complete. If you paid a cash deposit, any refund will be issued via cheque and could take up to 14 business days.

Does Hertz charge for roadside assistance?

If you require roadside assistance due to a mechanical issue with the vehicle, Hertz will not charge you. However, if the problem is not inherent to the vehicle i.e. a flat tire or keys locked inside, a roadside assistance fee of $165.000 will be applicable. Alternatively, when you make your booking you could opt to purchase Hertz Premium Roadside Assistance Cover at $3.00 per day (excluding taxes) - this would waive the $165.00 call out fee.

Can an additional driver operate my Hertz rental?

Additional drivers can operate your Hertz vehicle as long as they meet the requirements laid out in the Hertz Driver’s License Requirements section.

Can I get a refund for days I did not use my prepaid Hertz rental?

Unfortunately, no refund is possible for unused days. Please see the prepaid rental terms and conditions for more details.
