Free things to do in Gold Coast

With it being a big tourist spot, you might think it’s hard to find free things to do, but there are some unique activities that won’t cost you a penny.

If you’re here when the weather is great, pack up some grub and head to the Currumbin Rock Pools. It has rope swings, shallow pools (great for families) and areas to safely have your own BBQ.

For anyone staying closer to town, you can always hop on a bike and head along the Gold Coast Oceanway which has varying lengths of cycle routes that go right by the beach.

What can I do in Gold Coast this weekend?

The work week is over, and you just want to relax. Well you’re lucky to be in the right place for it. Weekends around Gold Coast are laid back, and even better if you love brunch.

Our top tip would be to stick around the Broadbeach area if you want to head out for brunch with the likes of The Cardamom Pod, Bam Bam Bakehouse and Little Mermaid perfectly suited for getting top brunch fare.

What can I do in Gold Coast with kids?

Tell a kid when they wake up you’re all going to a theme park and it will automatically be the best day ever in their eyes. Popular parks dotted around the area include Holoverse, Warner Bros. Movie World and Australia’s Sea World, but the biggest (and possibly best) is Dreamworld.

It has over 20 rides, a dedicated kids park and an amazing water park. If you want to get the thrill of going on rides with names like BuzzSaw and Tower of Terror II or want to take it easy in a poolside cabana, this is the place to be.
